Happy Birthday, Kelly

Today's blog post is a tribute to my cousin, who passed away exactly two months ago and who should be celebrating her 22nd birthday today.

When Kelly was born, the only thing that the doctors knew was that her heart wasn't functioning properly. As her parents took care of her and watched her grow, she never learned to speak. She made noises and gestures but could never form a word. After countless visits to the doctor, her parents were told that Kelly's condition was extremely rare, and therefore didn't have a proper diagnosis.

Despite all of the things that Kelly was unable to do, she was one of the strongest and sweetest people I've ever known. She would come up to you at random and give you a kiss, she was always rubbing her tummy to let you know that she was hungry, and she loved going to church. She always had a pocketbook and cards with her and if you tried to take them, it would not be pretty. Every time the Lord was mentioned during church, she clapped her hands. As the pastor said during her funeral, Kelly spoke volumes with no words at all.

I just wanted to remind everyone to cherish every moment you have with your loved ones. Never miss a single opportunity to let them know you love them..you won't regret it.

Good Friday!

Happy Good Friday (night), fellow bloggers!
Today was a much-needed girl's day with my best friend, Haley and I had a blast.
I hope you all enjoyed this day as much as I did..even if it was a tad chilly here in NC.
Here's what we did:

Went to eat lunch at The Daily Grind in Greenville.. AMAZING. I got a chicken melt that consisted of grilled chicken strips, bacon, cheese, and grilled onions on a sandwich that was toasted like a panini. After the entree came a sinfully delicious giant piece of chocolate peanut butter pie. I'm a super picky eater and I was more than satisfied. If you're ever in the Greenville area, I would definitely recommend it.

Went to see Titanic 3-D. Titanic is one of my all-time favorite movies and it was of course, nothing short of amazing. The awesome-ness of the 3-D part wore off after about the first 30 minutes though. And it felt like the movie lasted an eternity since it's like 4 hours long and I'm not very good at sitting still for long periods of time. I love the movie, but I wouldn't recommend spending $10 to go see it in 3-D...sorry I'm not sorry.

Went shopping. It has been forever since I've done some good shopping so it felt wonderful getting some super-cute things tonight! I'm trying to expand my style horizon, so hopefully the few things I got will be a good start.
American Eagle was having a store-wide 40% off sale.. here's some of the things I got!
I have been dying for some white cropped pants, and these fit perfectly!

I hope you all had a relaxing Good Friday and have a great Easter weekend!
Don't forget what Easter is all about! ;)

workout wednesday #2

Hey y'all! I hope this post finds you enjoying your Wednesday evening!

I'm back tonight for my second edition of Workout Wednesday! Every time I get dressed to go to the gym, I stumble upon the same frustration of feeling like I wear the same thing over and over again. I know, nobody notices and nobody cares, blah blah blah. But I notice and I care and I prefer to look cute while working out ;) So instead of actually talking about working out, I'm going to share some of the exercise apparel that I've been dying to have!

Nike Women's Sleeveless Relay Top
Nike Women's Printed Fast Pace Running Tank
Under Armour Women's coldblack Run Tank
Nike Women's Tempo Track Short
Nike Women's Side Panel Printed Pacer Short
Along with every other girl in the world, I'm obsessed with Nike's running shorts. They have them in every color combo you can imagine and they're super comfy. I could seriously wear them everyday...I just don't have enough.

What are your favorite exercise outfits? I'd love to hear!

Hope you have a fantastic end to this short week and a relaxing Good Friday!

Sometimes & Always Tuesday!

Hey lovelies! I'm super stoked about this post for two reasons:
1) It's my first post with my new blog look, which I hope you love as much as I do!
2) I'm doing my first-ever link up with Megan at Mackey Madness called Sometimes & Always

Sometimes: I go shopping online and put everything I want in my cart.
Always: I just exit out of the webpage because I want way more than I can afford.

Sometimes: I skip church.
Always: I thank, praise, and give glory to God.

Sometimes: I want to drop out of school, leave North Carolina, and live somewhere tropical with my best friend, Haley.
Always: I stay in school and settle for seeing my bff only on the weekends (and every waking second during the summer) because I have dreams and goals that I will one day accomplish.

Sometimes: My boyfriend drives me crazy and gets on my last nerve.
Always: I don't know what I would do without him.

this candid picture was taken before prom 2 years ago and then I was tagged in it on facebook..i had no idea. but that's me in the dark purple apparently quite upset with my boyfriend Pierce about something...

this is us a little happier ;)

Sometimes: I miss cheerleading.
Always: I wouldn't trade my four years, three national championships, or memories for anything.

our nationals picture from last year that just went up on the wall at my high school!

What are your sometimes' and always'? Please share!
Check back tomorrow for possibly another link up!

Have a wonderful Tuesday evening!
